Source: theexistentialstonerSyd and Matt Martians are The Internet, an experimental soul duo who recently released their first album under Odd Future Records. They share an apartment a mile from the beach in sunny Los Angeles and live a life many of their peers envy. However, many are blind to the realities of the industry they’re a part of.
Since the release of their debut album Purple Naked Ladies, the pair has found the antiquated business model of the music industry to be something they no longer wish to supply. But how can musicians make a living and spread their music to the rest of the world without the aide of one of the world’s major record labels behind them?
With their careers now relying on that answer, they have decided to take on the risks and rewards of doing it themselves, with help of their supporters of course. Fueled by the overwhelmingly positive feedback they’ve gotten from fans since the release of PNL, Syd and Matt have started this kickstarter project to help fund the FREE release of their next studio album and a documentary that will capture their journey from its inception to completion.
